Deontay Wilder's Unstoppable Funk Returns For Johann Duhaupas: GIF Spotlight
I think we've covered how unstoppable the funk of Deontay Wilder really is, and it did not stop when he faced European heavyweight champion Johann Duhaupas, of France in September 2015. Wilder was defending his major world heavyweight title against the large Frenchman. A wild fest of sluggery aired on the PBC broadcast that night. Wilder was lifting himself up off the ground with his own final punches to force referee Jack Reiss to stop the fight.
Duhaupas took a terrible beating but landed a surprising amount of leather himself. He went on to beat Robert Helenius and seems to be scheduled to fight three times this year against unannounced opponents. Wilder is still defending his claim and recently annihilated Bermane Stiverne into a meme, and is about a month away from facing arguably his best opponent yet in Luis Ortiz. I've wanted that fight for some time and am glad it looks to be happening now.

In Living Color Plays With Mike Tyson & Fire: GIF Spotlight
The brilliant sketch comedy show In Living Color featured impressions of Rocky Balboa, Muhammad Ali, Ray Leonard, and, of course, Mike Tyson during its run from 1990-1994. They weren't what you would call kind impressions, but anyone familiar with the long-running Love Connection show or the Mike Tyson/Robin Givens drama of the time period probably laughed mightily if they saw the episode these GIFs are from. With Jim Carrey as Chuck Woolery hosting Love Connection, Kim Coles as Robin Givens and Keenen Ivory Wayans as Mike Tyson, we have:

Robin is being told how the audience votes for picking her beau between Mike Tyson, John F. Kennedy Junior or Donald Trump, in the third GIF. 34% for Donald Trump is almost prophetic, looking at the numbers today.
PS: This has nothing to do with boxing, but I see no reason to rate a prime Robin Givens over a prime Kim Coles, now that I've thought about it. Someone, back me up on this. Coles TKO8 Givens.

Ann Wolfe: Lumberjack (GIF Spotlight)
In May of 2004, Vonda Ward, all six and a half feet of her, fought Ann Wolfe for the Women's light heavyweight title. Ann Wolfe proceeded to land an overhand right that could've been used by Don Quixote to take down a windmill.
I was wrong. That could be used to take down thirty or forty windmills. She might have been a giant, but still Wolfe KO1 Ward. This was Ward's only professional defeat.

Ricky "The Cosmetologist" Hatton: GIF Spotlight
In January of 2007, the light welterweight champion of the world, Ricky Hatton, defended his title against undefeated Juan Urango and had a rugged contest with the powerful Colombian southpaw. But it was HBO's commentator Larry Merchant who needed a little touch up in the post-fight interview. A moment before this happened, Merchant had his head swiped at by someone's flag being waved around, recklessly.
Faint heart never won fair Larry. Hatton took a risk there, and that's when Merchant truly fell under his spell.

Juan Manuel Marquez's Crossercut KO: GIF Spotlight
In February of 1999, the spectacular Juan Manuel Marquez had recently won a North American featherweight title. He was 27-1, with his one defeat being a disqualification on his pro debut. He'd not yet had a major world title shot. There have been luckier fighters. But he looked every bit the part of a champion. He entered the ring to LL Cool J's "Mama Said Knock You Out" and he must've had tremendous respect for LL's mama, because he listened and got the job done in round one. He did it with an uppercut he developed somewhere on planet Funkatron, where George Clinton purportedly summers. I call it a crossercut, because it sweeps across as much as it comes up and under. You can call it a Bolo if you think that's what it is. I won't hold it against you.
Whatever you want to call it, it's beautiful. This punch is like a Bond girl. I'm thinking of actually naming this punch "The Ursula Andress." Either way, Marquez KO1 Garcia. To his credit, Garcia got back up, though the referee waved it off. JMM would have to wait until 2003 to get a hold of a major world title. He'd have a major world title in every calendar year for a decade, through four divisions. He'd be spectacular and lethal throughout. Garcia had a very tough time after their match, finishing his career, according to Boxrec, on eleven consecutive losses. If only we could all be legends.
PS: Well, I guess then it would be meaningless, if we were all legends. What a dumb thought I almost ended on.

Paul Williams VS Kermit Cintron: If You're Feelin' Froggy, Don't Do This. (GIF Spotlight)
In May of 2010, the indomitable Paul Williams took on Kermit Cintron. Both former major titlists at welterweight, they met at light middleweight on HBO. It was heating up to become a good fight when IT happened. The strangeness fell upon us, the audience, at home or in the crowd. A thing. Something. A strange something. It happened. What it is will never be understood, as a matter of pugilism, as a matter of medicine, as a matter of sheer physics, what happened that night will never be understood. Here it is:
And, that little leap, ladies and gentlemen, ended the contest in the fourth round. A technical decision was awarded to Paul Williams, and Kermit Cintron left a completely baffled crowd on a stretcher, in a neck brace. Some how. For some reason. There were once brothers. Their surname was Mario. Mario and Luigi Mario. The Mario brothers, some called them. I seem to recall when Mario Mario would put on a green frog suit, it enabled him to swim more efficiently and to jump farther than ever before. Kermit is the name of a famous frog. I'm just trying to connect the dots here. I've almost figured this event out. . .
Yeah, I give up. Regardless, Cintron was recently KO'd by Tyrone Brunson and he is scheduled to fight 8-1 Marquis Taylor on the thirteenth of this month. Taylor is listed as having never scored a knockout. Maybe he can study this GIF to see how to otherwise incapacitate Cintron. But he'll have to break the laws of physics to make this happen again. Watch this space.

Manny Pacquiao Stars In Fist Of Feather (GIF Spotlight)
From a Fox Sports segment in 2014 with Regis Philbin (the host of all American television) as a referee, Manny Pacquiao demonstrates his stunning loss of power. After a certain point in his career, Manny couldn't even knock out a Miss America winner in Erin Brady. It's not like she's the biggest Miss America winner either. There is simply no excuse for this pillowfistedness. My God, not only did this go the distance, but Pacquiao lost on points. I wonder if Arum had planned a trilogy. Perhaps we'll never know the truth behind it all.
